Shane got his start as an instrumentalist when he started playing percussion at the age of four. Shane was avidly involved in his schools music program. As a member of the concert band, jazz ensemble, and marching band, Shane held many leadership positions including section leader and captain. In his 10th grade year, Shane started taking piano lessons from a local teacher and continues to build his piano skills today. In the summer of 2008 Shane toured across Europe with the YMA program as a member of the concert band and jazz ensemble. Shane's love of music led him to pursue a degree in music education at York College of Pennsylvania where her currently attends.
Shane got his start as a vocalist as a member of his school's choir and show choir (Legacy). As Shane started to take his talents more seriously, he started taking weekly voice lessons from Amanda Perko. As a student of Amanda Perko, Shane continued to build his vocal repertoire which includes Broadway favorites, jazz standards, as well as pop tunes. Shane got his start in theater when he became a cast member in WYAHS presents the Pajama Game, in which he played the role of Charlie as well as a member of the ensemble cast. In his senior year, Shane returned to the stage as a cast member in WYAHS presents the Wizard of Oz in which he played one of the leading roles as the Tin Man/Hickory. Shane continues to be actively involved in theater while at college. The next musical he plans to participate in is York College's 2011 production of Into the Woods. |
